Britain may become like Italy, warns PM Boris Johnson as coronavirus continues to spread

London: British Prime Minister Boris Johson on Saturday warned that Britain will become like Italy if people do not immediately follow social distancing orders as coronavirus cases continued to increase in the country.

It was the grimmest warning from the premier since the COVID-19 cases started emerging in the country.

According to a tweet sent out by a BuzzFeed editor, the prime minister said the NHS system will be overwhelmed if the virus continues to spread.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, he said people must not visit their mothers on mother’s day.
