“I hate net run rate #CWC19,” Smith wrote on Twitter clearly expressing his disappointment over the ICC system due to which Pakistan were unable to qualify for the semifinals despite recovering from their early losses.
After losing to Australia and India, Pakistan defeated the then unbeaten side New Zealand, Afghanistan and now Bangladesh but to no avail. Their World Cup campaign has come to an end despite beating Bangladesh by 94 runs.
Chasing a huge total of 316, Bangladesh were all out for 221 runs in 44.1 overs.
