Maulana Tariq Jameel’s meeting with Nawaz Sharif: Inside story

Lahore:Renowned cleric Maulana Tariq Jameel recently visited Lahore’s Services Hospital to meet Nawaz Sharif.

The Tableeghi Jamaat scholar inquired after the health of former prime minister in a meeting that lasted for an hour.

The meeting took place on October 24 amid reports that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo has been shifted to the hospital in a very serious condition.

TV anchor and columnist Javed Chaudhry in his Tuesday column talked briefly about the meeting between the two.

According to Chaudhry, Nawaz Sharif did not complain of the maulana’s support for Prime Minister Imran Khan during the hour long meeting.

But when the maulana was about to take leave, the former prime minister asked him to pray for one thing only: “If one must have an enemy, Allah give them a principled one”.
