Thousands of tweets have been posted against Malala Yousafzai for speaking up against a ban on female Muslim students in Karnataka.
She wrote, “Refusing to let girls go to school in their hijabs is horrifying. Objectification of women persists — for wearing less or more. Indian leaders must stop the marginalisation of Muslim women.”
Meanwhile, a video of a Muslim student being heckled by right-wing Hindu activists has drown outcry from secular segments of the Indian society.
Some Pakistani users also tweeted against Malala for not condemning the incident.
