Nawaz Sharif granted bail: Detailed verdict

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted six-week bail to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds.

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa heard the plea and ordered Sharif’s release on bail against surety bonds of Rs5 million.

Sharif, however, would be allowed to leave the country.

The court said Sharif will have to surrender before the law after expiry of his bail or he will have to approach the court for extension of his bail period if his health does not improve.
