Kate Middleton asked to help her designer detained in Pakistan

Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William attended the wedding of Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein Rajwa Al Saif.

Kate dazzled in the ‘Georgia’ from Jenny Packham – a gold, shimmering, long-sleeved gown costing around £5,000, paired with what appeared to be the lover’s knot tiara. 

Thousands of royal fans showered praises on the British fashion designer Jenny Packham for coming up with something that helped Kate Middleton steal the limelight from other royals who had come from across the world to attend the wedding.

But those in Pakistan who watched the UK’s Princess of Wales on TV screens and social media websites remembered Kate and William’s visit to their country in 2019.

During her visit to the South Asian country, her outfit was designed by Khadija Shah, the owner of Elan fashion label.

The Princess of Wales was so impressed by her work that she wrote a note of thank to the Pakistani designer who is now in the custody of police and not even allowed to see her family.

The then Duchess of Cambridge had sent Khadijah Shah a thank you note soon after she donned a monochrome outfit by her label.

Kate’s letter read: “Thank you so much for all of your help ahead of my tour to Pakistan. I am so grateful to you and your team for the wonderful selection you made for me to chose from — although having so many beautiful things did make the decision making a little more difficult! I loved the outfit I wore, so thank you for all your time and effort.”

Khadija Shah was arrested for her alleged role in violent protests that saw a military officer’s house torched in reaction to the arrest of former prime minister and cricket hero Imran Khan. Shah denies the charges.

Khan’s supporters want Kate Middleton to approach the Pakistani government to get the fashion designer out of jail.
