Pakistan Army kills seven Indian soldiers in retaliatory fire
RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army on Tuesday killed seven Indian soldiers and injured 19 others as it responded to Indian shelling from across the border, military’s media wing the Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The army said seven Indian military posts were destroyed as it responded to unprovoked shelling.
Indian forces killed an 18-year old Pakistani citizen and injured three women as they targeted civilian population at Khuiratta Sector at the Line of Control (LOC), the ISPR said.
Earlier in the day, the Pakistan Army said three Pakistan army soldiers lost their lives in unprovoked Indian firing at Rawlakot Sector.
It identified the deceased as Muhamamd Riaz, Azizullah and Shahid Mansab and accused Indian army of violating the ceasefire agreement.
The army said ceasefire violations had increased during the past 48-72 hours.
Both the nuclear armed neighbors engaged in an aerial battle last month which seemed to bring them at the brink of war.
Pakistan brought down two Indian aircraft on Feb 27 over Kashmir just a day after India carried out aerial strikes inside Pakistani territory.
Pakistan also captured one of Indian pilots who was released as peace gesture.
