People took shelter as panic gripped amid lightening, strong winds and rain.
Several journalist based in Islamabad said that the thunderstorm was a rare phenomenon they saw in years.
Strong winds uprooted trees and electricity poles in some areas.
No loss of life was reported till the filing of this report.
