Karachi: Thousands of people took part in Youm-e-Ali processions in Karachi and elsewhere in Pakistan as Muslim marked the martyrdom of Hazart Ali (R.A).
Large gatherings were also held in several cities across the South Asian country amid calls to stay in doors as the third wave of the coronavirus killed more than 160 people and infected over 3000 others.
Many mourners were seen wearing masks while others took part in processions without taking any preventive measures. The processions were relatively smalls in comparison due to the pandemic. Some people circulated old pictures of Muharram and Chehlum processions to criticize the mourners.
