Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh’s departure raises eyebrows

Islamabad: The government has appointed new Finance Secretary after Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh went on leave.

Sources said Sheikh was at odds with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar over some issues and did not want to serve in the Finance Division.

He has been replaced by Imdadullah Bosal as the Finance Secretary.

Hamid Yaqoob’s departure has raised questions as it happened amid negotiations with the IMF and ahead the budget.
