BREAKING: Lil Tay Is Not Dead
Lil Tay, the well-known social media personality, is indeed alive and well. She recently clarified that her Instagram account had been compromised and utilized to disseminate disturbing false information concerning both her and her brother’s supposed demise.
In a statement conveyed to TMZ by Tay’s family, she expressed, “I want to unequivocally convey that my brother and I are safe and alive. However, I am grappling with profound heartache, struggling to articulate my emotions. The past 24 hours have been profoundly distressing. Throughout the entirety of yesterday, I received an incessant stream of heartrending and tearful phone calls from my dear ones, all while attempting to unravel this chaotic situation.”
Tay further explained, “My Instagram account was infiltrated by a third party who propagated disconcerting falsehoods and rumors about me, to an extent where my very identity was misconstrued. Let it be known that my legal name is Tay Tian, not ‘Claire Hope’.”
She extended gratitude to Meta for aiding in the recovery of her Instagram account and confirmed that the fabricated death announcement has been taken down.
The timeline surrounding Tay’s delayed response to clarify her survival remains unclear. She acknowledges being aware of her compromised account and the related phone calls regarding her supposed passing. The reason for the 24-hour delay in debunking the misinformation remains puzzling.
On Wednesday, TMZ reached out to local authorities in the Vancouver area and Tay’s family members, who were genuinely unaware of her alleged demise. The truth behind this lack of information has now come to light.
The fraudulent news of Tay’s death was broadcast on her Instagram account on Wednesday morning. The statement proclaimed her “abrupt and tragic departure” as an “unbearable tragedy,” indicating that her family was in a state of complete shock.
The statement also included a mention of her brother’s alleged passing, stating, “The loss of her brother deepens the already unfathomable well of our sorrow.”
Lil Tay initially gained prominence as the “World’s Youngest Flexer,” showcasing extravagant living and rapping via social media. Despite amassing a substantial following of 3.2 million on Instagram, her account had remained dormant since 2018.
It’s worth recollecting that Tay was embroiled in a contentious custody battle between her parents, Angela Tian and Christopher Hope. This legal dispute reportedly commenced in 2018, coinciding with the period when the influencer withdrew from online platforms.
