Lil Tay’s family and management have issued an official announcement on Instagram, revealing the heart-wrenching news of the TikTok luminary’s untimely demise.

In the heartfelt statement shared on Lil Tay’s Instagram page, which boasts a following of 3.3 million, her family conveyed the heavy burden of sorrow: “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing.” The family described the loss as an “unbearable” and “indescribable” pain, stressing that the “outcome” was entirely unforeseen, leaving them in a state of shock.

The statement continued, acknowledging the irreplaceable void left by Claire’s absence: “Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”

Tragically, Lil Tay’s brother has also passed away, a situation that has added an unimaginable layer of depth to their grief. The family appealed for privacy during this immensely sorrowful period and disclosed that both Claire and her brother’s passing are currently subjects of investigation.

Lil Tay’s rise to internet fame began at the age of 9, where she gained recognition as a social media influencer. Her audacious self-proclamation as the “youngest flexer of the century” caught attention, and she became known for showcasing a lavish hip-hop lifestyle through Instagram videos.

Five years ago, Lil Tay disappeared from the online scene, sparking speculation and a custody dispute within her family. Allegations concerning her family’s well-being emerged, and her Instagram presence dwindled. Amid these circumstances, Lil Tay’s Instagram vanished in June 2018, and a cryptic “help me” message appeared on her story.

Subsequently, her account was reportedly hacked, leading to posts that alleged abuse at the hands of her father, Christopher Hope. Claims emerged that her father had maneuvered her to Canada to capitalize on her earnings. Her then-manager, Harry Tsang, refuted these accusations in an interview with The Daily Beast.
