Margot Robbie Opens Up About Kiss with Ryan Gosling in Barbie Movie
Margot Robbie, the lead actress in the Barbie movie, recently opened up about a peculiar aspect of her role alongside co-star Ryan Gosling. Playing Barbie and Ken, the on-screen couple faced an unusual situation during filming.
In an interview with People magazine, Margot revealed that she was unable to fully kiss Ryan Gosling in the movie, which garnered some teasing from her female friends. The film, released on Friday, features the two stars as a couple.
When asked about her feelings regarding not having a full-on kissing scene with Gosling in the film, Margot responded, “Uh, no! That didn’t feel like a win for me.” She playfully shared that her girlfriends playfully teased her about the lack of a proper on-screen kiss with the charming actor. They jokingly asked her, “What’s wrong with you?”
As both an actress and producer of the movie, Margot’s friends thought she had the power to change that situation. However, she explained, “My friends said we thought you were in charge on this one! and I was like, I know but I can’t check that off.”
The film’s premise revolves around Barbie and Ken’s expulsion from utopian Barbie land, leading them on a journey of self-discovery in the real world.
Apart from Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, the Barbie movie features a star-studded cast, including Dua Lipa, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Will Ferrel, America Ferrera, and Kate McKinnon.
