Elon Musk’s X defends Russia after Moscow accused of training Hamas for attacks on Israel
London: Elon Musk’s X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday made sure users know Arabs were capable of launching the deadly attacks on Israel without any external help.
Gunmen from the Palestinian group Hamas rampaged through Israeli towns on Saturday, killing at least 250 people and escaping with hostages in by far the deadliest day of violence in Israel since the Yom Kippur war 50 years ago.
More than 230 Gazans were also killed when Israel responded with one of its most devastating days of retaliatory strikes.
Although Musk avoided taking sides in the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict, users were provided with “Readers added context” on why Russia should not be blamed for attacks on the Jewish state.
When a prominent political commentator suggested Russia trained Hamas to use bomb-dropping drones, Twitter’s community note informed users that IS used drones to drop bombs on tanks in Iraq in 2016.
The note said blaming Russians could be an “opinion not fact”
