Gwadar protest: Distribution of Rs5,000 among people raises eyebrows

Gwadar: Hours after protesters signed a deal with government to end their 32-day long sit-in, a video of chief minister Qudoos Bizenjo distributing Rs5000 notes among the protesters has gone viral.
The protest was led by Maulana Hidayatur Rehman, the Balochistan the general secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, and the leader of the “Gwadar ko haq do” movement.
WhIle hundreds of people on social media praised the Maulana for rallying people, others asked him to explain the purpose behind the distribution of money in front of him.
Federal ministers and Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo had arrived at the protest venue a day earlier. Multiple rounds of talks were held after which an agreement was reached between Rehman and the chief minister, which was signed by the latter.
