HARDtalk’s Stephen Sackur interviews Hamid Mir
Islamabad/London: Stephen Sackur, the presenter of HARDtalk, BBC World News’ , interviewed Pakistani journalist and current affairs show host Hamid Mir who has been suspended by Geo News over his controversial speech outside the National Press Club after an attack on journalist Asad Toor.
Mir spoke about the situation of freedom of expression in Pakistan and warned that he would disclose the names of the people who are behind attacks in journalists.
Meanwhile, another senior anchor Rauf Klasra, while giving inside details of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s meeting with Pakistani journalists, said that the army chief has denied involvement of his institution in attack on Hamid Mir.
Citing sources, Klasra said during the meeting Bajwa went as far as to say he is ready to resign if any evidence is given to prove that the army and intelligence agencies are involved in attacks on journalists.
