Heartbroken over father’s arrest, PTI leader’s son Ammar Ibad dies in Lahore
Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and supporters are mourning the death of Ammar Ibad, the nine-year-old son of incarcerated party leader Ibad Farooq.
The child had a complicated neurological disorder that reportedly needed treatment abroad.
Farooq, the PTI ticket holder from Punjab’s PP-149, was arrested over his alleged role in May 9 riots after the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan.
Ibad Farooq’s family said that Ammar Ibad started having mental health issues after the arrest of his father.
They said that his health continued to deteriorate as his father remained in custody.
Thousands of PTI workers on Monday expressed condolence to the bereaved family and condemned the government’s crackdown against their party.
