Minar-e-Pakistan incident: Mahira Khan, others seek justice for TikToker Ayesha
Lahore: Hashtags Minar-e-Pakistan and #400men became top hashtag trends on Pakistani Twitter after a shocking video of a female TikToker being assaulted by hundreds of people went viral on social media.
Mahira Khan, Fatima Bhutto, Jibran Nasir and thousands others condemned the incident and called on the authorities to take action against the people involved in the assault.
According to police, they have registered a case against hundreds of people fo assaulting the woman in Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park on August 14.
According to Dawn, Pakistan’s leading English daily, the complainant told police she, along with six companions, were filming a video near Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day when around 300 to 400 people “attacked us”.
She said that she and her companions made a lot of effort to escape from the crowd. Observing the situation, the park’s security guard opened the gate to the enclosure around Minar-e-Pakistan, the FIR quotes her as saying.
