PTI workers abandon Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence
Lahore: A large number of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers who remained camped outside the Zaman Park residence of Imran Khan for the last few months were nowhere to be seen when police surrounded the house of the former prime minister on Wednesday.
The authorities suspect several PTI workers including his nephew Hassan Niazi are hiding in Zaman Park after staging violent protests against the military.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s brother-in-law and Hassan Niazi’s father Hafeezullah Niazi also confirmed that PTI workers have disappeared from Zaman Park.
Hafeezullah Niazi, who is also a resident of Zaman Park neighborhood, said the area remained crowded by more than 15,00 workers of the PTI everyday since his arrival in Lahore.
He said that roads were so crowded that he found it difficult to reach Geo News office.
Niazi said that it was sad to see that Imran Khan is no longer protected by hundreds of his workers outside his house.
Imran Khan has also expresses concern that the police may arrest him again.
Thousands of tweets have been posted under hashtag an Urdu language hashtag calling on PTI workers to reach Zaman Park but Imran Khan’s residence wore a deserted look with supporters ignoring the calls for fear of police action.
