Shaheer Sialvi arrested, blogger Ali Zai booked

Lahore: More than 40 thousands tweets were posted on Monday, demanding the release of Shaheer Sialvi, a so-called right wing youth activist.

Lahore police on February 15 lodged an FIR against Shaheer and blogger Ali Zai for delivering incendiary speeches outside the historical Wazir Khan mosque.

Sialvi had given the call for a protest against what he said was desecration of the mosque after actor Shaan Shahid, singer Ali Zafar were seen dancing on a sufi song outside the mosque.

The actors were also accompanied by the Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudry during their visit to the Wazir Khan mosque.

Shaheer Sialvi has amassed a large number of supporters on social media and he is quite popular among right wing circles.
