He said that the iconic New Honeymoon Hotel was completely destroyed due to rains and flash floods.
Torrential rains have played havoc with infrastructure in large swathes of Pakistan.
More than 950 people have died and millions of people have been rendered homeless in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan provinces of Pakistan.
China and international donor agencies have pledged help for flood victims
Pakistani government and the opposition initially remained reluctant to highlight the plight of the flood affectees as the tragedy unfolded amid a fragile political situation in the Islamic Republic.
Peshawar-based journalist Iftikhar Firdous said, “The federal government has constituted a committee for flood relief efforts. He said the provincial governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab are absent from the notification while the two provinces have excluded the federal government”.
The Pakistan Army has also been called for rescue activities.
