Why Pakistan skipped Malaysia summit?
Islamabad: Pakistan Foreign Office on Friday respond to speculations about Islamabad skipping a summit of Muslim countries in Malaysia.
The statement comes after some media reports claimed that Pakistan stayed away from the summit due to pressure exerted by Saudi Arabia.
The statement issued by the government said Pakistan did not participate in the Kuala Lampur Summit “as time and efforts were needed to address the concerns of major Muslim countries regarding possible division in the Ummah”.
“Pakistan will continue to work for the unity and solidarity of the Ummah, which is indispensible for effectively addressing the challenges faced by the Muslim world,” said the statement.
