Zartaj Gul Wazir mocked for wrong explanation of 19 in COVID-19

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Climate Change Zartaj Gul Wazir is being mocked on Twitter and Facebook for her explanation of why coronavirus was named COVID-19.

In an interview with state-run Pakistan Television, the minister said, “19 in COVID19 corresponds to 19 points that can differently affect countries based on their immunity”..

Video of her remarks went viral over the social media, with people mocking the minister for her lack of knowledge.

Her statement came amid outrage at government for its approach to overcome the coronavirus pandemic in the country where cases has spiked to over 160,000.
