Cynthia McKinney, ex-Congresswoman, says US played role in Imran Khan’s removal

Former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney said that the United States had “big hand in the overthrow” of former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan.
In a Twitter statement, the 2008 Presidential Nominee for the Green Party said that Khan refused to condemn Russia and refused to join the sanctions war.
“In addition he would not let the CIA use his country for their bases and finally he was an ardent supporter of Palestinians as was Cuba and Iran”.

Her statement came days after Imran Khan was removed from office after opposition parties brought a no-confidence motion against him.

Following his ouster, Khan is holding big rallies across Pakistan and accusing the United States of using its influence to remove him from the office.
The United States have dismissed Imran Khan’s allegations.
