Fact-check: Azad Jameel is not Maulana Tariq Jameel’s son
Maulana Tariq Jameel is a renowned Pakistani religious scholar associated with Tableeghi Jamaat.
The cleric is equally admired by his followers in Deobani school of thought and other sects of Islam for promoting peace and harmony among Muslims in Pakistan.

The Maulana is also highly regarded by sportsmen, showbiz personalities and politicians in the country.
A couple of years ago a young cleric became popular for his skills to imitate Maulana Tariq Jameel.
Voice and tone of the cleric known as Azad Jameel is so similar to Maulana Tariq Jameel that one can’t distinguish between him and the Tableeghi Jamaat scholar.
Facebook users have long been sharing the young cleric’s videos with captions suggesting that Azam Jameel is Maulana Tariq Jameel’son, which is no true.
He is by no means related to the Maulana. He is neither Tariq Jameel’s son nor has any other association with him.
Some followers have long expressed displeasure over Azad Khan aka Azad Jameel for imitating the Maulana.
Maulana Tariq Jameel’s followers have also been posting one of his speeches in which he has warned people against imitating his style or voice. He, however, encouraged people to spread his message.
