DV Lottery results due this week are for 2023 or 2024? Confusion addressed

Many applicants believe they are waiting for the DV 2023 results this year. They are wrong because the DV 2023 results were announced in May 2022 and could be checked anytime at dvprogram.state.gov before September 2023.

The DV Lottery results being expected next month (May 2023) would actually be the results of DV Lottery results for year 2024.

The confusion arises mainly because the entry period for the DV- 2024 Diversity Visa Program was between October 5, 2022 and November 8, 2022.

DV-2024 Entrants may check their results by visiting this link starting at noon (EDT) on May 6, 2023.

DV-2024 Entrants should keep their confirmation number until at least September 30, 2024.
