Inquiry starts against Lahore Corps Commander Lt. Gen Salman Fayaz Ghani?
Lahore: Some journalists and social media accounts associated with the ruling Pakiatan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are claiming that the army has initiated an inquiry against former Lahore Corps Commander Lt. General Salman Fayaz Ghani.
The claims were made after the army sent Lt. General Syed Aamer Raza as the new Corps Commander.
Speculations are doing the rounds that Salman Fayaz Ghani has invited the wrath of military’s top brass with his alleged failure to prevent PTI protesters from destroying the Corps Commander House on May 9th following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan.
It is being claimed that the army leadership intends to start court martial proceedings against him.
Rumors are being circulated that the family of Salam Fayaz Ghani is also not aware of the action the army plans to take against him.
Lt.General Salman Fayaz Ghani comes from a military family. He is the son of Brigadier (retd) Fayaz Ghani Chatta. His sister and brother Umar Fayaz Ghani are also serving the military on the ranks of brigadiers.
His brother-in-law Imran Majeed is a Lt General.
Although the reports about the inquiry against the former Lahore Corps Commander could not be independently confirmed, Army Chief General Asim Munir looks determined to take action against all those who he believes undermined his institution.
