Pakistan’s Himalayan salt being sold in Denmark at almost $2 per 350 grams
Pakistan is witnessing an acute balance of payment crisis and its forex reserves have dropped to dangerous level.
The country has increased power tariff, hiked petroleum prices and imposed additional taxes in order to woo the IMF to release $1.17 billion bailout to avert an imminent default.
While Pakistan is looking to increase exports to reduce balance of payment deficit, its attention has been drawn towards Himalayan Pink Salt, which is available only in Pakistan.
According to Pakistani visiting Denmark, the salt is being sold in the country by a Mecdoninian company at almost $2 for 350 grams.
The government has been urged to focus its attention on the product to earn foreign exchange.
