BOL News anchor Jameel Farooqi breaks down at airport as police transfer him to Islamabad

Karachi: The Islamabad Police on Monday shifted BOL News anchor Jameel Farooqi to the capital hours after he was arrested from Karachi.

In a video recorded at the Karachi airport, Farooqi told his colleague Faisal Aziz Khan that his family was not aware of his arrest.

Faisal Aziz is seen consoling the young anchor as he broke down in tears.

He also accused the police of stripping and torturing him during custody.

In another video recorded on the plane, Farooqi said he was arrested for supporting Imran Khan.

According to the FIR, the anchor and YouTuber was arrested for accusing police of sexually assaulting PTI leader Shahbaz Gill.

An FIR was filed against him in Islamabad and he was taken to the capital on a transit remand.
