Here is why Fawad Chaudhry and Naeemul Haq are at daggers drawn

Fawad Chaudhry and Naeemul Haq are at daggers drawn and on Wednesday they chose to make it public.

But the PTI workers didn’t like it one bit and denounced both the leaders for failing to resolve their differences amicably.

What happened between them?

It all began when Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry while talking to Pakistan Television Employees said democratically elected government could not think of banning labor unions.

He said some non-elected people sitting in the Prime Minister House have no understanding of the issues, without naming anyone.

“Among  those non-elected people one is PTV Managing Director,” he went on to say according to Jang newspaper’s website.

The minister said he had written a letter to the MD PTV over his performance. “I am unable to understand why is he angry now,” he was quoted as saying.

Citing unnamed sources, the Urdu language newspaper wrote that a letter was written in response to Fawad Chaudhry’s communication on behalf of PTV’s board of directors  rejecting the minister’s allegations which he reportedly leveled in his letter to MD.

But letter it turned out that  most of the board directors were not even aware of the meeting which decided to respond to the minister’s letter.

“They  (members of board) think the letter was sent by Arshad Khan (PTI MD) himself,” the paper said.

Meanwhile, Naeemul Haq took to Twitter and said “The Prime Minister has full confidence in the Board of PTV and it’s management and believes PTV should be an independent organization like BBC and the government will take all steps necessary towards that end.”.

Fawad Chaudhry replied to Naeemul Haq’s tweet  with Urdu poetry which many think would worsen the .situation.

The PTI’s supporters on social media have expressed dislike over the spat with few people taking sides. But they largely urged them to show restraint.
