Is HEC reopening universities? Here’s the answer

Islamabad: Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Tariq Banuri was recently asked about when it would be possible to reopen universities and other educational institutes in Pakistan.

In an interview, he said that universities could not be reopened like markets because a lot of people stay at hostels and attended classes in large numbers.

Explaining further he said that the HEC has asked the government to provide guidelines and SOPs so that universities could be reopened.

The HEC chairman didn’t give an exact date as to when the educational institutions would be reopened amid the coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan.
