Major Adil Raja released on bail after brief detention

London: Fugitive former military officer Adil Raja was arrested in London and released on bail till September.
He was taken into custody in connection with an inquiry that started after he was accused of inciting violence in Pakistan.
His absence from Twitter seemed to lend credence to speculations about his arrest.
Earlier, Pakistani journalist Anas Mallick dismissed the reports and said Major (retd) Adil Raja was not arrested.
Citing sources, he said Raja was summoned for questioning by the police for his involvement in incitement to violence through his social media platforms.
He said, “Adil Raja was briefly DETAINED and NOT Arrested and has now been RELEASED, As per his lawyer Mehtab Awziz, “he was detained on suspicion of encouragement to terrorism, his devices were taken away by police and he still does not have access to communicate”.
Adil Raja recently got his YouTube channel banned for spreading misinformation.
Adil Raja’s wife Sabeen Kayani is a British national and he fled Pakistan after being briefly detained.
