Pakiatan: Muharram moon not sighted, Youm-e-Ashura on August 9th

Karachi: The Central Ruet-Hilal Committee said it did not receive any evidence of moon-sighting for Muharram.

According to the committee, 10th Muharram, Youm-Ashura, will be on August 9th.

The sighting of moon determinesnthe date of Youm-e-Ashura, which is observed to remember the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain.

The Youm-Ashura is observed on the 10th of Muharram which is the first month of the Islamic calendar.
