Shabe Barat 2020: Govt imposes restrictions

Muslims in Pakistan are all set to observe Shabe Barat on Wednesday, a night which is considered as one of the holiest in the Islamic calendar.

It is observed on the 15 of Islamic month of Shaban and it falls 15 days before the start of Ramzan.

The Shabe Barat 2020 is being observed amid coronavirus pandemic. The government has announced restrictions ahead of the Shabe Barat under which people will not be allowed to gather at one place as they traditionally do in mosques and graveyards.

During Shab-e-Barat, a large number of Muslims visit graveyards  to make special prayers for the departed souls of their near and dear ones.

On the other hand, this days is considered as day of celebration in South Asia and specially prepared food are shared with neighbors and poor.
