What did Ali Ahmad Kurd say at Asma Jahangir Conference?
Lahore: Senior lawyer Ali Ahmad Kurd on Saturday criticized the judiciary and the establishment at the Asma Jahangir Conference in Lahore.
He took aim at the judiciary in the presence of Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed. Kurd, who is the former president of the Supreme Bar Association also called for civil supremacy in the country in his hard hitting speech.
He urged the people to ensure that they became the rulers instead of letting “only one general” to dominate them.
Later, Chief Justice dismissed Kurd’s claims and said the judiciary was free and nobody could dare dictate his court.
Without naming anyone, he asked the speakers of the event not to mislead people and avoid from spreading unrest in the country.
