Dr Nauman Niaz insults Shoaib Akhtar on PTV

Islamabad: Dr Nauman Niaz, PTV anchor and head of PTV Sports, is receiving backlash for insulting Shoaib Akhtar on his show.

Niaz left Akhtar and foreign cricket legends like Viv Richards in shock when he asked the Rawalpindi Express to leave the show.

Akhtar announced to quit the show in protest. #BoycottPTV become hashtag trend after cricket fans demanded Dr Nauman Niaz, the son of Lieutenant General Hamid Niaz (retd),resign for insulting the Pakistani sports hero.

Days after the controversy, Dr Nauman Niaz was interviewed by senior Pakistani journalist Rauf Klasra. Niaz apologized to Shoaib Akhtar and everyone who was hurt by the incident. He also shared his side of the story and the reason he asked Shoaib to leave the show. Check out his interview below:
