PSL 2019: Mohammad Sami hat-trick leads Islamabad United to victory against Peshawar Zalmi
Pakistan Super League’s 11th match in Shahrjah saw Islamabad United defeat Peshawar Zalmi by 12 runs on Saturday.
Chasing a total of 159 runs, Peshawar Zalmi openers Kamran Akmal and Imamul Haq failed to provide a good start.
Only Kieron Pollard’s aggressive knock (51 off 22 balls) was a notable score from Zalimi. Pollard hit five sixes and three fours.
Captain Darren Sammy was bowled out at 11 by Muhammad Musa.
Islamabad United captain Mohamamd Sami tore through Peshawar Zalmi batting lineup with a brilliant hat-trick.
Musa also took three wickets conceding 25 runs in his splendid spell.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and opted to field first. Put into bat, Islamabad United openers failed to provide a partnership while four batsmen were sent back to the pavilion before they could have reached double figures.
Ian Bell (54) and Cameron Delport (29) helped Islamabad United put a defendable total.
Peshawar Zalmi’s Sameen Gull took three wickers, Hassan Ali 2, Umaid Asif Wahab Riaz and Pollard one wicket each.
