Kobe Bryant body pictures leaked from crash site? Fact-check

American basketball Kobe Bryant legend lost his life along with his daughter Ginna and seven others in a helicopter crash in January.

Days after the incident, US authorities launched an inquiry to determine whether officials were involved in sharing graphic photos of human remains from the site of the helicopter crash that killed basketball legend.

A large portion of the basketball champ’s fans now believe that photos of his body have been somehow leaked on the internet.

That’s not the truth because multiple reports suggest that all the bodies were charred beyond recognition and there is no way anyone can identify Kobe Bryant or any other victim of the crash. It’s quite possible that graphic photos that were taken of the crash site and the human remains might have leaked online.

Local media confirmed at the time of the incident that the photos of human remains from the crash site were shared and shown to others.

Without naming anyone, Los Angeles Times reported tha a source let another person take a peek at a photo on his phone.

The reports in the local press said the photos were viewed apart from the crash investigation but it was sitll unknown whether the pictures were taken at the scene by a first responder or came from someone else.

LA Sheriff Department said they were looking into the situation.
