Actor Joaquin Phoenix detained in Washington

Washington: Actor Joaquin Phoenix was detained by authorities from a climate change protest, TMZ reported.

The actor who recently won Golden Globe award for his role in “Joker” was taking part in a protest arranged by Jane Fonda in Washington.

Martin Sheen and several other people were also taken into custody during the protest, the report said.

According to the report, the protesters were calling for an end to all new fossil fuel and taxpayers subsidies to oil companies.
