Engin Altan Duzyatan’s tweet about Pakistan: Fact-check
Engin Altan Duzyatan played the role of Ertugrul in the popular Turkish TV series “Dirilis: Ertugrul”.
The actor has become a household name in Pakistan where the series is being aired in Urdu language.

The drama is being broadcast by the state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) on the special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to some reports in Turkish media, the popularity of the drama in Pakistan has surpassed Turkey, with millions of people turning to YouTube to watch the historical fiction series in their national language.
From the prime minister to cricket star Shahid Afridi to common folks seem to have become fans of the series being aired with the title of “Ertugrul: Ghazi”.
Social media users in Pakistan have recently been expressing their love and support to the cast members of Ertugrul.
Esra Biljic who plays Halime Sultan has even promised one fan that she would visit Pakistan when the coronavirus situation improves.
Pakistani fans are eager to hear from Engin Altan Duzyatan too. Some of them believe that the actor has sent a tweet about Pakistan, which is not correct.
A look at his Twitter account suggests that he has yet to express his thoughts about Pakistan and his fans in the Islamic Republic.
It also emerged that Engin Altan Duzyatan is a Muslim who happens to be a staunch supporter of democracy.
He also hols modern Turkey’s founding father Ghazi Mustafa Kemal in high regard.
It is to mention that Mustafa Kamal put the Ottoman caliphate to an end which was founded by Osman, the son of Ertugrul.
