American actress and socialite Kyle Richards has opened up about the 2004 sex tape of her niece Paris Hilton as she appeared on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen”.
Talking about the tape that leaked 15 years ago, she said that it left her family devastated.
“When your niece Paris’ tape was leaked, did you initially think it would ruin her career or help catapult her star power?” asked the host.
Responding to Andy Cohen,the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Richards said, “We were devastated. Like my whole–it was horrible”.
The host and the actress were talking about the scandal which unfolded when in 2001 the sex tape filmed by Paris and her ex-boyfriend Rick Salmon got leaked a couple of years later.
Paris Hilton approached the court to sue an Internet company for invasion of privacy demanding $30 million in damages but her plea was dismissed by the judge.
