Lt. Gen (retd) Hamid Niaz, father of anchor Nauman Niaz, dies at 86

Islamabad: Lieutenant General (retd) Hamid Niaz, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86, his son family said.

His son Dr Nauman Niaz said in a Twitter statement “My father Lieutenant General Hamid Niaz 19th PMA Long course has passed away, aged 86 years.”

He added, “Not only a father he was a man highest on integrity and honesty. A real man, he was. I am a popper without him. I can’t imagine he has left us.”

Senior Pakistani journalists, national and international cricketers offered condolences to Dr Niaz over the demise of his father.
