Moonsighting Australia, a body of experts and religious scholars, is scheduled to make an announcement regarding sighting of Eid-ul-Fitar 2020 moon on Saturday.
The body meets to sight the crescent in order to follow the Islamic tradition. Backed by over 100 Imams, many mosques and Islamic centers across Australia, Moon Sighting Australia said in a statement that it will make an announcement regarding sighting of the moon or otherwise in the evening after Maghrib prayers.
Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eid on Sunday as Shawwal moon could not be sighted in the Kingdom on Friday.
Most of the Islamic countries are expected to celebrate Eid after 30 Ramadan this year.
