Queen Elizabeth death rumour trending on Instagram is not true
London: Rumours regarding the death of Queen Elizabeth started swirling on Tuesday after it was announced that the British monarch, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, has decided not to undertake her planned virtual engagements.
As the death rumour started trending on Instagram, Omid Scobie, the author of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s unauthorized biography “Finding Freedom”, dismissed the fake news without mentioning what is was.
“No, that (now trending) rumour that started on Instagram is not true,” he said.
Omid is a seasoned journalist who has sources within the palace. Earlier in the day, a Buckingham Palace representative said the Queen will continue with light duties and “Further engagements this week will be decided at the time.”
The rumours came as Kate Middleton arrived on a two-day visit to Denmark.
