Who is judge Zeba Chaudhary?

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued a show cause notice to former prime minister Imran Khan in contempt case.

He was ordered to personally appear before the bench on August 31.

Imran Khan is facing contempt charges for what his opponents say threatening a female judge and police officials.

During his rally held to express solidarity with Shahbaz Gill, the former prime minister said he would take legal action against judge Zeba Chaudhary and won’t spare IG and DIG police.

He was angry at the judge for remanding Gill in police custody.

In his speech, Khan called Ms Zeba Chaudhary a magistrate, who is actually an Additional and Session Judge in Islamabad East.

According to IHC website Zeba Choudhary is not a magistrate as Khan called her during his speech

The PTI chairman was livid at the judge for approving physical remand amid reports of alleged torture on his chief of staff.

PTI says Khan did not issue any threat to the judge and only announced to take legal action against her.

Women rights activists condemned Khan’s remarks as sexist.
