Aleem Khan buys Samaa TV channel?
Karachi: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has approved change of ownership of Samaa TV channel, months after it was reported by a section of the local media that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Abdul Aleem Khan had acquired the private broadcaster.
The news about the sale of the popular broadcaster was first shared by a reporter associated with Voice of America, without revealing the name of the buyer.
Another journalist associated with the VOA revealed that the channel was sold at Rs3.65 billion.
The news could not be independently confirmed. Samaa was launched by Zafar Siddiqui in December 2007.
