ARY News distances itself from Shahbaz Gill’s statement about army

Islamabad: A day after defending its decision to air Shahbaz Gill’s controversial remarks about the armed forces, ARY News and its owner Salman Iqbal distanced themselves from the PTI leader.

In a statement read out by anchor Kashif Abbasi on his show, the private broadcaster said it condemns Shahbaz Gill’s statement.

Meanwhile, Asad Umar also admitted that although Shahbaz Gil did not mean what he said on ARY, his remarks could be misinterpreted easily.

Imran Riaz Khan, Moeed Pirzada, Siddique Jan, and several other anchors.and journalist who are known as pro-PTI men, did not react to Gill’s arrest the way they are known for.

The primary focus of their rants was directed towards other journalists, known as staunch critics of the PTI, instead of the establishment.
