Islamabad: A fake press release on petroleum prices was circulated on social media and WhatsApp groups on Saturday.
The fake press release said the government has increased the prices of petrol and dies by Rs21.23 and 18.12 per liter respectively.
The government, however, kept the prices of diesel and petrol unchanged on Saturday April 1, 2023.
The original press releases given below shows no change in prices.
The government received backlash for not reducing the petroleum prices despite the fact that the prices have seen a considerable decline in the international market.
