Islamabad: An American company is selling Pakistan’s iconic Servis Cheetah sneakers for $99.
The Servis Cheetah high top sneakers have been advertised as “The Taliban’s favorite on the company’s website.
The famous shoes are also known as Tali sneakers and The New York Times published an article on 30 January 2021 detailing how they are associated with the Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan.
A Pakistani IT expert said that Servis should have owned digital space and rights to its name and capitalized on the export of its famous shoes.
A Pakistani journalist once said, “If you want to trace Taliban, you have to follow Servis Cheetah supply chain.”
