Ali Sethi gets married to Salman Toor?

Singer Ali Sethi has denied reports that he got married to Salman Toor in what was called to be the first high profile gay marriage involving a Pakistani celebrity.

Hundreds of Pakistanis attacked the Pasoori singer and his father Najam Sethi, a seasoned journalist and the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), after pictures of Ali Sethi and Salman Toor were shared with the report of their alleged marriage.

Liberal activists congratulated Najam Sethi for “raising a brave son” after the news of the marriage came out.

Gay marriage is forbidden in Islam and Pakistani law also does not allow it.

Pakistani Twitter was flooded with homophobic tweets after the news surfaced online.

Neither Najam Sethi nor Ali confirmed the reports about the marriage.
